Air volume reduction with VOC concentrators
Scrubber abatement efficiency on HCl, HF, HBR and SOx
Years of installations in complex industrial environments
Donau Carbon Technologies environmental technologies are not standalone products: they are components of an integrated treatment system. The sequence depends on the stream composition: organic VOCs, acid pollutants, particulates, and the final emission target.
When VOC concentration in the air is too low for efficient oxidation (< 1 g/m³), a VOC concentrator, zeolite rotor, reduces the air volume to be treated by 10-20% times, increasing pollutant concentration and reducing the downstream oxidiser's operating costs.
We remove NOx contained in the polluted air when the concentration exceeds the emission limit
When the stream also contains inorganic pollutants, such as HCl, Cl₂, SOx and NaOH, a wet scrubber downstream of the oxidiser neutralises the acids with a basic solution before atmospheric discharge. The bag filter removes fine particulates, including sub-micron particles.
Excess heat generated by oxidation can be recovered via a recovery boiler installed downstream of the oxidiser to generate steam, thermal oil or hot water for reuse in the production process. This reduces the plant's overall energy costs.
Every technology is designed to integrate with the others and with Donau Carbon Technologiesthermal oxidisers and solvent recovery plants. We supply integrated solutions or individual components, depending on site requirements.
For low-concentration VOC air streams that are unsuitable for direct oxidation of for recovery. The zeolite rotor concentrator (HZRC) adsorbs VOCs from the process air and releases them into a concentrated hot air stream that we send to the oxidiser.
We use concentrator for constant flows with known composition. Both solutions reduce the volume to be treated by 10–20 times, with a proportional reduction in downstream oxidiser operating costs.
DeNOx units (SCR and SNCR) reduce nitrogen oxide emissions in industrial flue gases and can be integrated with Donau Carbon Technologies thermal oxidisers or operated as standalone systems.
For fine particulate capture from industrial processes, including sub-micron particles. Designed for high-temperature and aggressive composition streams, integrable with upstream scrubbers for combined treatment of particulates and acid pollutants. Fully automated system with continuous residue management.
Heat recovery systems installed downstream of the oxidiser generate steam, thermal oil or hot water for reintegration into the production process, reducing the plant's overall energy costs
Recovery of soluble-in-water solvents with high boiling point (DMF). Possibility to recover DMF and send it back to production
A VOC concentrator installed upstream of an RTO reduces the air volume to be treated by 10-20 times. Less air means a smaller oxidiser, less support gas consumption and significantly lower operating costs, without compromising final abatement efficiency.
Many industrial processes simultaneously generate organic VOCs and inorganic pollutants such as HCl and SOx. The RTO and scrubber combination treats both types sequentially, with a single point of responsibility and a single interface for the client.
The heat generated by VOC oxidation is a resource, not a waste. Donau Carbon Technologies recovery boilers convert it into steam or thermal oil for reuse in the production process, generating a direct economic return on the abatement plant investment.
All Donau Carbon Technologies environmental technologies are designed to integrate with existing plants, Donau Carbon Technologies or third-party. We provide analysis of the current system, integration design and supply of additional components without prolonged production interruptions.
Donau Carbon Technologies environmental technologies apply across all industrial sectors, generating low-concentration VOC streams, inorganic pollutants or particulates often in combination.
Rotor concentrators combined with RTOs to optimise costs on lines with variable solvent concentration or below the oxidiser's autothermal threshold.
Scrubbers for HCl, SOx and Cl₂ generated by chemical processes. Integration with filtration systems for streams with high chemical aggressivity and temperature.
Heat recovery systems are compatible with any existing thermal oxidiser, Donau Carbon Technologies or third-party system to valorise excess heat from the abatement process.
VOC concentrators combined with catalytic oxidisers to optimise odour abatement on low-concentration streams with high operational variability.
Scrubber and bag filter systems for treating fumes containing sub-micron particulates and acid vapours generated by specific production processes.
Complete RTO, scrubber, and filter train for complex multi-pollutant streams. Heat recovery to reduce the plant's energy costs.
A VOC plant does not stop requiring attention once it has been commissioned. We offer maintenance, revamping, remote monitoring, and activated carbon management throughout the service life of Donau Carbon Technologies systems and third-party installations.
We offer maintenance contracts tailored to each plant: scheduled routine maintenance, on-call unscheduled maintenance and emergency interventions. The plan starts with an analysis of the plant's actual conditions, not with a standard package. We are supported by the Babcock Wanson Group's network, which is active across Europe and has technicians specialised in in RTOs, TOs and SRUs.
We upgrade existing plants to new IED limits, replace obsolete components, and improve the performance of oxidisers and solvent recovery systems built by Donau Carbon Technologies or others. We analyse the plant, identify the necessary interventions and carry them out with minimal impact on production.
We remotely supervise plant operating parameters 24/7 from our offices: temperature, pressure, O₂ concentration, LEL levels, flow rate, and recovered solvent quality. We receive alarms in real time, analyse anomalies, and intervene before they lead to production stoppages.
We manage the entire activated carbon cycle in the adsorbers: condition analysis, replacement planning, collection of spent carbon, authorised regeneration or disposal and reloading with fresh carbon. Available for all solvent recovery plants, Donau Carbon Technologies and third-party, and integrable with the maintenance contract.
When the VOC concentration in the air is below 1 g/m³, this value is too low to ensure the efficient operation of the self-heating RTO. The concentrator reduces the air volume to be treated by 10–20 times, increasing VOC concentration in the stream reaching the oxidiser and proportionally reducing support gas consumption and operating costs.
Yes, but with limited efficiency on fine particulates. For streams containing both acid pollutants and sub-micron particulates, the optimal solution is the scrubber and bag filter combination in sequence: the scrubber neutralises the acids, the filter captures the particulates. This is the typical Donau Carbon Technologies plant configuration for waste treatment processes and telecommunications materials production.
It depends on the VOC concentration in the treated stream and the flow rate. When concentration exceeds the autothermal threshold, excess heat is proportional to the quantity of VOCs oxidised. During the project phase, we calculate the recoverable amount using actual process data and size the recovery boiler accordingly.
Yes. We design VOC concentrators, scrubbers, bag filters and heat recovery systems for integration with existing thermal oxidisers and solvent recovery plants, including those built by other manufacturers. The project starts with an analysis of the current system and identification of the optimal integration point.
We analyse each plant using actual process data to identify the most suitable solution from both technical and operational perspectives.
